I am Mark Sunshine. I have two flavors. Artist and Musician. Sometimes the flavors mix.
I was born in Manhattan in the Winter of Love. I have lived in New Jersey for most of my life. I attended college at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan.
I have always been a very creative individual. I began to express myself creatively through drawing and painting when I was a child. I am – with the exception of the specific technical cartooning skills I learned in college — self-taught in both art and music.
My creativity is a powerful, practically overwhelming aspect of my life. It does not turn off. Artistically, I involve myself in various media, methods.
I am also a musician. I started out on drums but to be brief, abandoned that pursuit for vocals. I am self-taught as a singer. I have been involved mainly in the hard rock genre for quite a while.
Most recently, from 2007 until April 2012 I was the lyricist and vocalist for Riotgod, a hard rock band on the Metalville label. ( DE )
I also have done cameo work for At War with Self , the project of Glenn Snelwar as well as Von Garcia (SGM Collective ) in the past.
Having parted ways with Riotgod has me looking to the future.
It is a time of major transformation for me, I have not done even a small percentage of what I am capable of and look forward to everything.
